frustrated with VDMOD and MSU sub remover

I set MSU at: write subtitle mask, sub length 1% and 15%, blur only.
I set vdmod at: xvid, single pass (can not set double pass because it lacks the statfile), full processing mode.
I tried many time and it still didnot remove subtitle.
has anyone ever used this softwares and actually saw they work? Please show me how to use them. thank you.
