After burning 14 episodes of show (avi to DVD, typically one hour long with subtitles added), on the 15th episode, the resulting T_S folder contains only 20 minutes of the hour long avi file. The RAW file checks out all the way through (full hour) using VLC, why would only 20 minutes of the video be converted? This is the first time this has happened. I've tried it twice through, checking all the settings, but the results are the same.

In addition, another file gets a framerate error message and when I click OK, it then proceeds to encode the file.
The resulting T_S folder burns fine, but upon playback on a standalone DVD player there will be frozen frames every 15 minutes or so. Fastforwarding and then playing will get the DVD playing again so I am able to watch the video, but it is a nuisance to have to keep fastforwarding and playing.

Both errors occurred since I upgraded to ffmpegX 0.0.9x. Do I need to upgrade to 0.0.9y if I am not using Leopard?

Several different things can cause this problem. Some are:

    1) Bad hard disk sectors. When ffmpegx tries to write to it, the file gets munged and it decides it's done.
    2) Nearly full hard disk. You'll need more free space than just the size of the final file. Ffmpegx produces intermediate temp files, and you need enough space for them.
    3) Weird file error 666. Click on the blue "i" in the Progress pane and see what the logfile says. There might be a useful clue there about what ffmpegx is complaining about.

Great input, and quite the case here--I'm down to the last 10% of my hard drive space so I'll need to do something about it.

    Thank you!
