Okay, so I want to be able to play video games on my computer. So I bought a product called Gamebridge off of Amazon. Here is the link.

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000DLBAG4/ref=dp_cp_ob_title_1

However, upon getting the product, I realized that it wasn't compatible with Vista. Which is a problem, because that's my OS. So I worked around it by setting the Install files to run in Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode. Well, after the drivers and software installed, it seems that no program (WebcamMax, YawCam, FullScreenTV, etc.) is able to capture anything from the Gamebridge. And if it does, then the feed freezes after a few seconds.

Well, the actual software that was included with the Gamebridge...THAT works...albeit rather clunkily, at times. The software is called 'InterVideo Home Theater'. When you start it up, it gives you three options: 'TV', 'Gamebridge', and 'Videos'. Gamebridge is for playing video games, so after choosing that, changing the source to Gamebridge, and setting the input to composite, it works.

However, after starting the program up a couple of times, the 'TV' and 'Gamebridge' options just disappear completely, leaving only 'Videos'. It's almost like it isn't recognizing the Gamebridge hardware or whatever. I tried rebooting, but no dice...Help?

My ultimate goal is to be able to use stickam.com to broadcast myself playing video games. If I tell Stickam's broadcaster to set the input to the Adaptec Gamebridge, my comp freezes and I have to wait for the battery to die/remove it.

Hello, ViDEOHelp.com. I have been trying to help Magma for a few days, and eventually found this board and asked him to make a topic here. I'm pretty much out of ideas, except having him repartitioning his hard drive and dual-booting Windows XP from it, and using that. Even then, I'm not sure if that would do a lot, or not. I'm sure he is currently using Vista 32-bit. I'm not sure if, perhaps, there are third party drivers or tweaks that he could download somewhere.

He has told me that there are times when he can get it working for a few seconds with WebcamMax or other such software for a while, but gets no sound at all. Could he do something to get sound at all, without using the InterVideo Home Theater? Because I am not sure if using that software would cause difficulty in allowing him to stream the video with another program.

Surely, there is something that he can do. I have heard of many people saying they got it to work great, even for broadcasting. I know people do with other USB-based capture devices.

Thanks for your help on his issue. Again, I'm almost out of ideas he can try.

if you read the requirements before buying it you knew it would only work with xp or 2000.

unless or until adaptec writes drivers for vista you guys are probably out of luck. the best thing to do for now is go to their site and write to support about needing vista drivers. they get enough requests maybe they'll make them.
