I would like you guys to tell me a good proxy website i can use at work to check my hotmail as well as other things on the internet. These damn I.T. Bastards are locking people from certain sites.

As one of those I.T. B*s I have to say that we don't make the rules we only implement them.
The main reasons for blocking websites are inappropriate material, virii or other perceived threats.

In most organizations if you circumvent the system by using an external proxy then you leave yourself wide open to a charge of Gross Misconduct and instant dismissal - even if you only wanted to check your email.

As a first step I'd find out about the policy on personal email and then ask why hotmail has been blocked - you never know it could be a mistake.

  4. I'm an IT bastard too.

    4th one down

BTW, you have to remember free proxies are up one day and down the next. They also can be very slow.
BTW2, your IT bastards could be forcing you through a proxy without you even knowing it too.

then this is a pretty good indicator that internet usage is monitored.
which in turn means that any "good" proxy site you find will quickly be blocked.

I have to agree with the other "bastards". Screw around on the net on your own time. If they can your behind, you have no one to blame but yourself.

That's probably exactly what your IT is trying to prevent: people web surfing when they should be working.

  9. Xylob - you need to sue the OP for using your avatar. Surely there should be a forum rule against such bad behavior.

My custom avatar was dropped by the site. When I went in to "fix" it, I could no longer use my own avatar!!!
what I'm using now is a default vh avatar...

I guess they deleted it because the file size was too large(?).
    I much prefer this:

    or this:

guess I'll have to do some playing around in photochop as you cannot use a link as an avatar anymore either...
