  1. Does anyone know of a program that I can use to verify the integrity and usability of a bunch of VIDEO_TS DVD Rips I've made?

I believe I've seen one or two apps like this along the way, but as I recall, they could only do so for ISO files and/or other disc images, but I have yet to find one that can perform this task on a raw DVD_Rip (i.e. decrypted VIDEO_TS folder)??

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!

What exactly are you trying to test ?

Most testing applications look purely at the quality of a burn to DVD. They test for read errors, verify the content by comparison with the source, or perform some other checks based around the burning process and media.

I have seen one pro-level application for testing the actual validity of the DVD structure itself. I believe it might have been written by Philips, and was priced very much at the corporate level (I seem to recall tens of thousands dollars, but it was a while back, so I may be remembering wrong).

I can only assume you are wanting something to verify the HDD content against the source disc ?

  3. You can create an SFV file for just about anything, just as you might do for a bunch of RAR files or an ISO. Send the SFV along with the DVD and the guy at the other end can check for errors. I use QuickSFV:

Copying to HDD is, in and of itself, an integrity test. Any errors are reported by Windows. Virtually any file-compare program can do a comparison, but it sounds like a pretty big waste of time. Most ripping programs also check for read errors during the ripping process. .
