Can anyone recommend a simple but good tv-tuner software? Perhaps there is a thread on this already, but I couldn't really find what I was looking for.

    Advise?

    Do you mean PVR software?
Check for support for your specific tuner.

    GBPVR is simple and free.
BeyondTV and SageTV have more features.

VirtualDub is free and works great. Plenty of guides for learning how and achieving best quality. Though the software that came with the thing is probably the best.

I'm assuming that you want to capture and not merely watch...

Yeah...PVR is what I meant. I had CyberLink PowerCinema (came with card), but it ran quite slow and crashed on me. I'm just looking for something to record...doesn't have to be high end or anything. I'll check out GBPVR.

    Thanks,

OK...here's something I didn't think of...I have Pinnacle Studio Plus...is there PVR capability with that? Perhaps Pinnacle has such software as well?

    What is the tuner card?

Better to have a tuner with hardware compression on the card.
