Hi, I am importing footage into Premiere CS3 that was shot with my Canon G6 still camera. The footage is 320x240 at 15fps. The AVI plays fine on Windows but when imported into Premiere's timeline, the audio is out of sync with the video, or the video keeps stuttering (like Max Headroom!). I tried many combinations in the Project Settings but cant seem to get it right. Can someone help me out?

    Thanks in advance,
    Alain

Most Canon's use MJPEG compression. CS3 may not support MJPEG import.

I'd decompress to RGB in Virtualdub but you'd need a MJPEG codec.

Thanks for your quick reply! I guess another reason for me to invest in a camcorder! lol....in the meantime, any idea where I can get such a MJPEG codec?

<--- TOOLS, over there on your left, and search for "MJPEG"

In VirtualDub, extract to an uncompressed AVI. Import that into Premiere CS3.

I've not tried MJPEG in CS3 myself yet, so it may be as easy as adding a codec, VirtualDub may not be needed.

Premiere will be choppy on compressed sources, depending on your computer CPU speed, amount of RAM, and hard drive speeds.
