    Hi everyone.
First time poster and I'm hoping you might be able to help me out with a ripping problem.

A friend of mine recorded a few shows onto a DVD-r for me.
One is in EP mode and the others are all in SLP mode.
I want to rip the disc and re-author it with a custom menu via TMPGEnc.

The problem is, that when I try and rip the disc using DVD Decrypter or DVDFab, the resulting files won't open up in TMPGEnc or any other program I've tried.

I used DVDFab to rip the EP show on its own, and and it played on my HD via WinMP with no problems, but I can't rip the SLP files no matter what I try. They only work when I use PowerDVD, a standalone DVD etc but no ripping success.

Is there a way to rip SLP files? Is it a secret art!

Thanks for reading my problem and I hope someone will be able to help.

    Yep.
One standard VIDEO_TS folder with all the usual stuff and another called VIDEO_RM.
The dvd name is defined as DVD_VR.

...do you have a cunning plan?

    I can't believe I didn't think of that before!

I've just tried it and it will accept the EP file on its own or the SLP files.
If I try and add both, it tells me they are in the wrong format.

If I rip the SLP & EP files into separate folders, will I then be able to combine them into one DVD at a later stage?

    Quick update.
I've managed to combine all the shows via TMPGEnc Author 3.0

    Thanks Baldrick.
It's the simple things that we sometimes overlook!

If you create a separate track for the ep and slp it should work fine to combine different formats on a dvd. Or you have probably already discovered it.
