    Hey all
I have a bit of a problem. I recently got some videos of this old cartoon show I watched as a kid (The angry Beavers). These episodes are broken in half, because each episode come with two mini episodes. They seem to be in avi format but virtualdub doesn't let me import them in.

So I was wondering, how could I convert these episodes with SUPER video converter, so virtualdub can recognize them, and then I can append each mini episode to from one whole episode. Your help is appreciated greatly.

What settings do I use with SUPER, if I can use this software for this job.

P.S Most episodes are in the same resolution and frame rate, but some aren't. Thats why I would have to convert them, so I can later append them.

Have you dropped one of those episodes into Gspot to see what video and audio formats it's using? Let us know what you find or post a screen shot from Gspot. That would help considerably to give us an idea what program to use for conversion. You can mask the titles.

VD can also open more formats when used with a frameserver. SUPER isn't a very good converter at times, but it is able to use different formats.

Also what format do you want to end up with? I'm guessing DVD. If so, I would try to encode them once directly to MPEG-2.

Here ya go. I tried and converted them to mpeg2 in super then went to tmpgenc and merged the two mini episodes together, without a problem. But I always could get some help on getting the quality a little better.

H.264 with MP3 audio. You should still be able to get that to MPEG with one encode. It has CBR MP3, so hopefully no sync problems. Of course, it's in PAL format.

You might try ConvertXToDVD or maybe the freeware FAVC.

More info about the format: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.264

  6. To open those files in VirtualDub you will need a VFW based h.264 decoder. ffdshow includes one.

Yes. VirtualDub won't output MPEG though.

  10. Jorge: You might want to download AviDemux. It has an append function built into it. It also will allow you
to convert your file to mpeg2 if you want to do so.

I was going to say the same thing

I find AviDemux to be very useful for cutting, appending, and/or getting a quick mpeg from AVI

I use super a lot, but mostly in a different context

I have found it very useful, when i want to reduce the frame rate,

which is something I do when creating GIFS or swf files for my phone

I use super to create the 7.5 fps avi, that I import into the programs for making the GIFS or SWF files

    a couple of examples
