In Pinnacle Studio 11 Ultimate there is a AVCHD format to burn a Blu-Ray disc. I thought you needed a Blu-Ray burner and a Blu-Ray disc to do this. Also a Blu-Ray player to play the disc. How can this be?

Yes, you need a blu-ray writer to burn on blu-ray media. But you could also burn the blu-ray video folder to a dvdr and it might work on some blu-ray players( I guess the PS3 supports this).

I burned a home made video using AVCHD on a regular dvd disc and it played in HD mode on my PS3. It will only burn about 23 minutes on a 60 minute dvd.
