I really canīt solve this guys. Itīs impossible for me to add subtitles to an avi file with ffmpegx without getting the already famous: sh: line 1: /Library/ Application Support/ ffmpegX/ mplayer: cannot execute binary file
This one appears when I click for viewing the subtitles preview. Of course subtitles wonīt come up when I encode the file. I installed the application and the other three files just fine. Any ideas?

If the error message is indeed pointing to a bad mplayer, then the [Play] button in the upper right corner shouldn't work either. Can you confirm that?

If you quit ffmpegX and then launch it again, does the "Install binaries" window pop up (again)?

Yes sir. Both of them. The PLAY button doesn't work either. The "install binaries" window pops up every time I launch the program. Any clue?

    Regards

It means (at least) mplayer is not installed as it should be.

Did you download ffmpegXbinaries20060307.zip and unzip the archive? Did you use the Locate buttons to browse to the respective files on your desktop?

It should look something like this:

Note how the download URLs on the left side are replaced by the local location of the downloaded files, as I have indicated in the green boxes.
Enter your admin password and hit "Install".

After that, try quitting and relaunching again to see if the installer-window stays away this time. (It should.)

Items in red were faulty or not present, and need to be installed. Items in black are okay and can be unchecked.

Could you believe Iīd never unzipped those files?

Thanks so much! I was living in hell with some Asian movies and no subtitles.

    Regards
