  1. Hi

One of my clients bought several music dvd's. He made a selection of tracks and asked me to make a new compilation with those selected tracks on a new dvdr. What is the best way to do this.

    thanks in advance

DVD Shrink. And if you want menus you can use it together with Tmpgenc DVD Author. See https://www.videohelp.com/guides/how-to-make-a-mixed-dvd-id502#502

You could also use DVD Decrypter to rip by chapters/tracks and then import in your dvd authoring tool.

  5. Apparently i can't select de chapters in dvdshrink, and burn them directly on a DVD.

So i ripped them in separate VOB-files with DVDdecrypter, each musicclip is a VOB-file. Now I'm having troubles with some VOB-files when I import them in encore. I get the following error.

    could not import VTS_01_CHAPTER_02_1.VOB.
The file type is not supported.

I ripped 18 clips, and with 3 of them I get that error.

With the other 15 clips, i can make without any problem a new DVD. How does it come that 3 of them are not imported. I even tried to rip them separatly and import them again, and still the same problem.

    thanks for some help

Try extracting the mpg out of the non working VOBs with VOB2MPG. No idea as to why some work and some don't, but that may do as a workaround. Also, instead of getting the complete VOB from DVDDecrypter, you could set it to split it out into elementary streams, which may work better for your authoring app.
