Convert videos for PSP

I have a conversion question but before i do,if this is not appropriate for this thread please movie it to where it's appropriate. Anyway my question is on PSP. I won one on ebay a couple of weeks ago and i got it wednesday. I use Fab Platinum to copy movies to it so i thought as i was doing that,i'd put vids from youtube and google etc to it too. I went to PSP and no matter what advice they give to convert and create folders to,nothing works. Does anyone know how to do this,and could help me? i have tried online and install conversion programs,i have tried VIDEO as a folder per suggestion,i tried the MP_ROOT/100MNV01 thing,etc. nothing works. Please fill me in. most of thesae things don't give you a .thm to work with either which seems to link to the video,so this might be part of the problem but they don't seem to think it is. I'm stuck. anything you can do to help,would be appreciated. thanks.

You need to convert all of the files you are trying to use into a format supported by the PSP. Which tools you use, can vary according to the file types that you are trying to convert.

There is a complete list of tools in the...TOOLS section. Look in the Portable/Mobile/PSP/iPod section.

i found out my firmware for PSP was outdated. i bought mine at ebay used and it was firmware version 2.50 but someone at the PSP message board told me i needed 3.60 and after showing me how to update via internet, I am now able to do it. But what about DVD's? can i go to a video conversion place or something and convert .vob's to mp4 so it'll work on it? just curious.

Same section I recommended to you above. Or you can do it with other tools, just look in the HOW TO: Convert section, then choose the beginning and final file formats for a list of guides and tools.

Well, not a PSP expert, but we use AutoGK to convert for our Creative Zen but that reads Xvid videos, not sure about PSP. I assume AutoGK can convert to the format you need and it's free and somewhat adjustable.
