Has this worked in the past? You could always try a different tool. Otherwise I would suspect you are having Vegas issues. Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling Vegas and ensuring you have all of the latest patches/updates?

  3. It won't help immediately but submit this issue as a problem through Sony's Vegas support website.

I had a problem (unrelated) with 8.0 and they fixed it with 8.0a.

BTW, are you using Vegas' built-in import tool for HDD camcorders?

I've read there (Sony Vegas' Forum) that some people are having problems to capture with Vegas 8.0b ( capturing is not your problem, really). Did you register the software on line? Is it a trial version? If it is, you've got to register on line. As far as I know, Vegas 8.0a had problems dealing with TGA files on the timeline to make video compositings. Sony fixed this bug on version 8.0b but unfortunately, now the problem seems to be audio files when dropped in the timeline on video compositings (it doesn't matter if they are VOBs, WAV or MP3). I hope they fix this soon on version 8.0c.
