    Hello,

I have a bunch of questions about how to setup the DivX codec for good encodes.

Codec tab: What should I set for Experimental SSE4 full search?

What should I set for Bidirectonal coding?

How much should I set for Max keyframe interval?

What percent should I set for keyframe threshold?

    Video tab:

Should I set for Noise Reduction?

What should I set for Psychovisual Enhancements?

That is all my questions. Please reply back ASAP. Thank you.

Since you are a beginner, start with a program such as AutoGK. It is really straight forward and there are several guides if you feel the need to experiment with the advanced settings, but those aren't needed to get quality encodings. You can encode using Xvid or Divx.

Use this only if your CPU supports SSE4 (limited to Core 2 Quad, I think).

Adaptive Single Consecutive gives better (than Multiple consecutive) standalone Divx/DVD player compatability. Off will increase file size (or give lower quality with CBR and 2-pass VBR encoding).

I usually reduce it from the default of 300 to 100. That gives better seeking at playback time.

The default of 50 is fine.

Only if you need noise reduction.

I've only played with these a bit. I found Off worked best for me.
