    Hi,

I just recently started using the CCCP codec pack and heard it was better to uninstall all other codec packs first. So I did that, but after I installed CCCP I couldn't play any RMVB files. So I downloaded Real Alternative and was able to play them, but had problems with the audio channels that have two languages. It would simultaneously play both languages giving you a headache. One language comes from the right, one from the left. Before I would just uncheck on side of the stream and check the other stream so that I get one language coming from both sides. But I noticed now I couldn't do that. Even if I unchecked all audio streams I would still get both languages coming at once. Any ideas why?

  2. It may be that you have pre-existing codecs that are rendering the audio stream. You can render your file using graphedit to determine how the audio is being rendered. You may have to clean up some old codecs.

It sounds like you have tried in MPC to use audio=>options=audio switcher=>enable custom channel mapping (to select streams). Did you remember to press apply, and exit, then restart MPC?

Another option would be to change your audio through windows (i.e. L vs. R control) but that would give you mono output

    Good luck!

I forgot to say when I installed real alternative. MPC couldn't open rmvb files, I had to add the .rmvb extension under the real media extensions first, not sure if that has to do with it. But anyways, I have pressed apply and exited many times, but it always resets back to 1 channel, even when I set to two, I can't click apply, I need to click a different checkpoint and then press apply, although it makes no difference.

Using graphedit I get file -> realmedia splitter -> realaudio decoder -> ac3 filter -> default directsound device. I uninstalled ac3 filter to see if it would help, but same thing... Everything was better before I installed CCCP lol.

As for the windows suggestion, I wouldn't want to do that knowing I could easily change it before.

Any other ideas? Or I wonder if I should just uninstall CCCP and use back my other crappy codecs that seemed better (Klite pack, all in 1 pack, etc.).

Anyone else have any ideas? I just realized that whenever I try to use 2 channels and apply the settings, they always stay at one channel. But if I open another random video the 2 channel settings apply to them. I was advised by a friend not to constantly install and uninstall codecs, so I'm not sure if I should get back my old codecs...
