    hello. i just downloaded ffmpegx and i tried to concert a file with the output format of MPEG-TS and i will convert it but when i try to open it, it say "error opening movie. the movie could not be opened" any body has any idea why i get this error?

    What are you trying to open the TS file with? Try VLC if you haven't yet tried it.

    thanks for your answer, but im trying to send it to a tv station and they wanted it in that format... and i can't event open on my computer.... and it should be a simple MPEG2 file... no? i created the video with final cut pro... but i can find i way to convert it with that program, that is why i downloaded ffmpegx, but its not working for me

    You say that the output format is mpeg-ts. What was the input file format? The more information you provide, the more likely it is that one of us can help. Please say more than "XXYY didn't work. What could be the problem?"

    Also, did you try ArtemisG3's excellent suggestion about playing it with VLC? If you tried it, what happened?

    QuickTime Player won't play .ts files, that is why VLC was suggested as an alternative player that is known to play .ts files. MPEG Streamclip will also play .ts files, which is remarkable as it depends on QuickTime decoding.
