    Q1 :: i have a video file in wmv format @ 800 kbps. if i increase its video bit rate @ 1600 kbps by encoding. does its quality also increases? by doing this i know size of the file increases.
    Q2 :: Similary if i get an audio encoded in 192 kbps Stereo if increases it to 256 or 320 kbps does the quality of the sound increases.?

    1: Nope, reencoding it and increase the bitrate wont help. With some filters you might get "better" quality, like deblock and sharpening filters.

    2: Nope.

    Best is to find a better video source and then reconvert to the higher bitrate.

  3. Start with a nice flat shiny piece of aluminum foil, say 12x12 inches. Compress it down to a 1 inch ball. Uncompress it back to a flat sheet. Note all the wrinkles (compression artifacts). Compress it again, but this time only to a 2 inch ball (less compression). Uncompress it again. Does it have more or less wrinkles?
