  1. Hi;
    Not sure if this is the right category, I have following problem: I am using a software that allows me to do online live presentations using my webcam. The software uses the input from the cam. I would like to trick the system and show a video (wmv) file instead of the webcam.
    Is there any software that can show the video and act as the camera device basically tricking the system?

    You won't likely find a tool for "tricking" your presentation software. There is no need/reason for anyone using the presentation software to not also need/use the webcam.

    Depending on your what you are actually trying to do, you may find other software for playing/streaming video files.

    A upcoming new version of our software contains a feature called "Virtual DV" and it isn't tied to the main software. It works with DV format video. It doesn't matter where it comes from as long as it is DV. e.g., it can work with live DV from a camcorder, existing AVI files or even the DV output from an application.

    It will depend on the input capabilities of your presentation software as to whether it will work with the Virtual DV.

    If you'd like to try it, please PM me and we'll take it from there.
