Hi, i'm a little confuzzled about something re: ffmpegX & need some clarification. i 1st found ffmpegX online thru a MacOS freeware site so @ 1st i thought it was freeware. Now after getting more familiar w/it thru these forums, i've gotten the distinct impression that it's shareware. But then today i saw somewhere on a website it said that there is a freeware version of ffmpegX. What's the real deal on ffmpegX? If it is shareware & not freeware, why am i finding it on freeware sites & seeing references to a freeware version of it? i'm so confused ... someone please set me straight. Thanx.

Do you not get the shareware reminder message displayed at launch of the application?

The 1st time i found & downloaded/installed it, i don't believe i got that shareware msg. at all (i'm pretty sure i would have remembered it). After i had to close/quit ffmpegX & then later tried to run it the 2nd time, i had to reinstall the binaries again (maybe i didn't do something right the 1st time i installed it). On this 2nd version that i had just reinstalled, i did get the shareware message when i ran it.

    As the website states:
"Do you like ffmpegX and want to support its development? Please register."

"You can try the program for free to see if you like it [...]. The trial version is fully functional excepted for the "SVCD>DVD" and "DVD>DVD4GB" tools, and is not time-limited. To register, pay the $15 registration fee [...]. You will receive in your email a key which will deactivate the reminder message displaying at launch of the application."
