Hey,
So I am mostly dealing with these audio files, does anyone know any audio converters that support all 3. I have tried DaudioK, but it gives me a bit of errors and when I tried to convert an AAC audio it just outputted a tiny file. I tried audacity and the same thing. Also for AC3 files it extended some of the times... So can anyone recommend me any good ones to use that will support those formats?
edit: oops forgot to say I want to convert them to MP3 CBR 192kb.

I know dbPowerAmp Music Converter can, if you install their codecs for all three.

I tried dbPowerAmp but it won't let me open an AAC file. I googled for an AAC converter and tried one and got another 0 second or 1 second file. Am I missing something?

dbPowerAmp only defaults to a few standard file types (like MP3 and WAV). For AAC, AC3 and Ogg, you'll have to install the codecs from their Codec Central page.

Oh ok, its working now. I still couldn't get AC3 to work though. Whats the trial period all about, I can still use the converter after the period is over right, just not the other functions?
-
I believe to get AC3 to work, you have to download the "DirectShow Codec", then install AC3Filter (unless you already have it installed), and then go into dbPowerAmp's options and add '.ac3' to the filetypes in the DirectShow Codec options.
In regard to the trial period, I believe it's mainly in regard to the MP3 functions and Power Pack/tagging features. If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them? -
Yea I installed and downloaded the directshow filter as well as ac3 filter. Do you mean dbPowerAmp config? I don't see an option to add ad3.
-
Yes. You should be able to open the options for the DirectShow Codec from dbPowerAmp's options, and add .ac3 as a filetype, there.

ok, I'm stumped here. I can't get AC3 working at all in dbPowerAmp. Can someone give me a step by step guide..?
-
Another option is foobar (freeware) that will convert them, but you have to download the ac3 plugin separately
-
If there is AIOs that transcodes AAC to WAV or to MP3, or whatever you want, and reencodes AC3 etc...then there is, or not....check them
there is freeware for almost everything, and one of the bests is FFMPEG
No surprise that VSO ConvertXtoDVD uses that engine -

Both links are from dbPowerAmp's own Codec Central pages (the earlier version from the 'Legacy Codec Central' pages). If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?
