    Big problem on this end...

Opening a project from before my upgrade to leopard and now getting an error message regarding the "title 3d" plugin not being able to be found.

I navigated to the plugins directory and strangely - it's there... with all the other boris caligraphy plugins along with my magic bullet ones. the thing is the magic bullet plugins have the bundle extension and the icon, whereas the boris plugins say ".bundle" but look like regular old folders - and function like regular old folders.

i tried reinstalling final cut (by essentially using the installer again overtop of the original - i didn't take the time to uninstall everything) and even tried copying the files to the location using pacifist and NOTHING works.

is anyone else experiencing this problem and know how it can be fixed? its kinda urgent as I need to get this project finished!

Never upgrade the OS while you have projects pending!!
That is the worst thing you can do.
With Leopard and FCP/FCS, the norm it seems on the apple
    boards has been:
Clean Install of Leopard ( erase everything)
    Clean install of FCP/FCS
Clean Install of all Plug-ins/3rd party Add-ons
Updating the Pro Apps Support through Software Update
Recopy any projects back to the Disc

Hopefully, you store your projects and all related video files
already on an external FW disc? that will save a step if you do.

Leopard and FCP/FCS is NOT a good combination. I imagine at
NAB this year we will see an update, either to FCP 6.03/DVDSP 4.04
Compressor 2.02, or a major package update to get the thing to work.

As for Boris, it got a must buy upgrade to Boris FX 9.2 for Leopard
    Compatibility.

Go to the Boris main site, and if you have a recent valid serial,
you should be able to update it for free.

    Thanks for the reply.

For the record - it was a clean install of all but I read somewhere it was a quicktime update that botched the bundles.

I got in touch with someone at Boris and they sent me a link to re-download the fixed bundles (apparently this happens frequently).

So if anyone has this issue just email support@borisfx.com

Now that that's out of the way - i thought that Final Cut was updated for leopard? I guess not...

Regarding Boris - I doubt I have a serial since its the bundle that SHIPS with final cut not a seperate purchase. But I think this file they sent me is the patched version.

Hope that helps anyone else who runs into the issue.

Re: Quicktime and FCS--the only issue I know of is QT 7.4,
being a total rat bastard. 7.3.1 is the most stable to date.
In Apple's rush to get movie rentals to everyone, they
hosed everything outside of iTunes with this update.

Some users have had success with Leopard and FCS2.
Others have had numerous QT issues, but either reinstalling QT
or running FCP Rescue seems to fix the issues.
FCS1 users have also had issues, and since I'm usually always
working on a project, upgrading in the middle of one, while using
FCS1 is not an option for me.

Cool, glad that the Boris update fixes the issue for you.

yeah me too. and i noticed that 7.4 seemed to be crippling everything - though then again - QT hasn't worked great since upgrading to leopard - at least not in fullscreen mode.
