    Hello,

Thanks to the developers for creating ffmpegX.

Using the avi to iPod* or mp4 converter seems to take a long time on my machine - about as long as it takes to play the video. Is this normal?

I'm really just looking for fast avi to mp4 conversion, quality is less important. Is ffmegX the right tool?

    Thank you.

As in: G4/667 from 2001? That isn't exactly a speed monster by today's standards. No software can change that.

Real time conversion seems quite fast, I'd say, with the Mac mentioned. It depends on scaling and other settings, so more info is needed to say what is a 'normal' time for your conversion. Encoding to 320x176 is about 2.3 x faster than encoding to 640x352 on my machine with ffmpegX.
