Hi all,
I have an ATI Wonder 650 USB. When I attempt to capture in any of the Catalyst H.264 profiles, I either have no sound or no video. The Generic H.264 profile results in no video, but the audio is listed as AAC. The H.264 in AVI Container profile results in no sound and so does H.264 for PSP. The sound, by default, is supposed to be AAC (LC), auto selection for stereo etc, and a bitrate of 256 Kbps. I use the newest version of ffdshow, and Media Center Classic. I have, as far as I know from guides, made the proper selections for MPC to play AAC.
When I get no sound I get the following warning from MPC: MPC could not render some of the pins in the graph, you may not have the needed codecs or filters installed on the system. The following pin(s) failed to find a connectable filter:

Gspot provides the following concerning the audio: codec 0xa Stat: disabled in settings.
So, both MPC and Gspot "see" 0xa as the necesssary codec when the sound is supposed to be AAC. There is an 0xa codec for windows media player, but that does not work either. Also, Windows Media Player seems to "see" that the audio is AAC.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Solution:
The problem is that regardless of which profile you choose, whether it be PSP H.264 (resulting in an .mp4 extension), Generic H.264 (resulting in an .mp4 extension), or H.264 in an AVI Container(results in an .avi extension), the file is saved in an .mov container. The files, however, did not play well in quicktime (which I would not want to use anyway). My solution was to do stream copies of the audio and video via MediaCoder to change the container (transcode) to .avi or .mp4. For some reason MediaCoder always tacked on a duplicate audio track which I removed using YAMB. The resulting files play perfectly.
