Magnavox MWR10D6 - Help with Playback on other players

My parents bought me this DVD burner for Christmas last year, after waiting a year for my husband to hook it up to our satellite I finally did it myself, the problem I am having though is that I get a display and I record the program, it finalizes the disc and I can eject it put it back in and it reads that it is there, now I can put it in my other Magnavox player, my Xbox, and my laptop and they all register that it is a blank disc. Why is this happening?

You have to "Finalize" the disc. There should be a Finalize command in your menus... could be in a "Disc Edit" menu or somewhere else?

If you are in fact finalizing the disk, the problem can be the media you are using. Try another brand of media.

What media are you using?

You wrote above that it does finalize it. However, I'm pretty sure upon plugging it in, finalizing after recording isn't the default. You can set it up to be though.

So, on the remote go to Setup, and in there Disc Edit, and from there Finalize.
