Hi, y'all. I have some TVB series which are in .AVI, around ~300MB each file, and each one of them has 2 stream audios. One is Cantonese and the other is Mandarin. I want to burn them out onto DVDs so i could watch on a standard DVD player. Could anyone show me how to convert these .AVI to DVD with only the Cantonese audio? Thanks

Depending on the AVI format, you could drop them into VirtualDub or VD Mod and delete the audio you don't want, then save both the audio and video out as a direct stream copy. This is fairly quick and no changes are made to the video or the audio file you selected.

If you use a different save filename, it also won't damage the original file. Then you can check to make sure it works, then delete the original version.

Just use VirtualDub Mod ( NOT VDUB )

    - menu video : direct Stream copy
    - menu streams :

    there is 2 in there

click one of them to select and hit DISABLE button

    - menu file : save as...avi

as because you don't know what of them are in Cantonese, you maybe need to do this twice

It's a lot easier to do in VirtualDub Mod. Just select 'Streams>Stream list' and you should see both audio files. L Click on the one you don't want and Delete or Disable it at the bottom of the right menu, then save the audio and video out in 'Direct stream copy'. (The default setting for audio, but you will have to choose it for video.)

Use a different filename to 'Save as' if you don't want to overwrite the original, at least until you've tested it.

This isn't working for me. I followed your guides and did successfully disable the un-wanted audio, but the output is way outrageous. The input was about 300 MB, but the output is 1GB! please help. There's also no "Save" button, just "Save As.."

  8. Did you use "direct stream copy" for video?
