I had problem with my burner, Optiarc DVD RW AD-7530A ATA Device, because it was saying I burned things but they burned nothing to the DVDs I used when I tested them even when they said the files had been finished.
Someone from another forum suggested that I uninstalled the driver hardware and when I did, a big question mark went over The Other Devices section and an exclamation point over the sub category saying:
Windows needs to install a driver software for your Optiarc DVD RW AD-7530A ATA Device, then I click locate and install software (recommended). I wait and then it says Insert the disc that came with your device. I tried this but it found nothing. I select I don't have the disc show me other options. And check for another solution but it can't find anything. It says device driver software was not installed successfully.
My burner is an Optiarc DVD RW AD-7530A ATA Device and Im running on a Vista Home Premium Gateway Laptop with a Pentium Dual Core. I searched online for a solution for this already within the past day and found barely anything except people saying its the DVDs Im using to burn this when clearly its not b/c I burned stuff with these same DVD-Rs a few days ago and suddenly it doesn't burn anymore.
This happened to me before and it was easily rectified when I did system restore but now that I configured Vista to run faster for me, I turned system restore off b/c it said it takes up too much system resources, so now I cant revert to when my burner was working for me.
The problem is when it burns on either DVDecryptor (for my iso files) or Power2go (Which I use for data files), it doesnt say there s a problem or anything after its done burning. It just continues to 100 percent and then I click on complete or done and yet when I click on the drive or re-insert it, there s no data on the files.
Can someone here please tell me what I can do without having to go to a repair shop or spending any money since I know this problem can be fixed. Thank u for reading my dilemma and hopefully someone can reply back soon asap.

That's an internal DVD burner on your laptop, just to answer other's questions.
The drivers are built into Vista or you can probably download them from the laptops manufacturers site. But I don't think that's your problem. Usually DVD burners don't need drivers as the OS supplies them.
I wouldn't turn off system restore myself. Or you won't be able to fix minor problems such as badly installed programs that mess up your system. It has nothing to do with operating speed. But it may use a bit of drive space.
If you are burning ISO or VIDEO_TS folders, I would use ImgBurn instead. It's the updated version of Decrypter, though it only burns now, no decrypting. It works better with newer drives and it's freeware. DVD Decrypter is an old program and may not work properly on newer drives. I've never heard of Power2Go, but ImgBurn is likely a better choice for your purposes.
It's not usual that drives that write the disc can't play them back. I would try them on a standalone DVD player. You also can usually look at the data side of a DVD disc and see if it's actually been burned.
And the majority of DVD problems relate to the DVD media used. I would stick to major brands like Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden. Verbatims are obtainable at most major stores, TY need to be ordered online most times.
And welcome to our forums. -

Usually ISOs are about the easiest to burn and cause the least problems for burning. What I am suspecting is you have some other burner programs that may be interfering with each other.
You said it worked before after a system restore? That would have taken you back to before there was some change in your system. What change was made?
If we rule out media and the burner itself and probably the burner drivers, then you are left with a software problem with something that's been added to your system. That's just speculation, though.
You didn't answer if you tried to play the burned DVD on a set top player or another computer. Are you sure the media isn't being burned properly?
Most burner programs like ImgBurn generate a log. You should try to locate that and see what it says. It's unusual that a burn would complete with no errors, but still have a blank disc.
Sorry, more questions than answers, but your situation is not normal.
