    Dear forum members of Videohelp.

I'm a big fan of anime. Fansubs have released some series in .mkv which i wanted to play on my normal dvd player. In order to achieve this, I had to convert an MKV container file with an H.264 encoded video and AC-3 encoded audio to an AVI container file with an XviD encoded video and, optionally, 2-channel MP3 encoded audio.

I've followed a very clear guide here on how to do this, step-by-step (using videodub, mkvtoolnix, and some plugins)

It all worked well and the result is quite good. However, i found a slight error in the subtitles and I really don't know how to solve this.

    So far i've tried:
    - using the same font that came with the mkv container
    - changing it to a different font
    - changing the 'style' of the font (western / turkish/ whatever)

I guess I dont need to explain myself when you see this picture:

Does anyone know what I should do in videodub or the "textsub" plugin to fix this?

    edit:
    FIXED! Solution given by Midzuki

The original subtitle text-file is encoded in UTF-8.
Open it in Notepad and then save it as a new
    "ANSI-encoded" text. HTH.
    Thanks Midzuki!

    P.S.:
I'm a big fan of anime,
Have you already been called "troll" by the rec.arts.anime.*'s habitués ?
    Well, I have.
