    My Vegas Movie Studio 8 has been working fine since I acquired it in December 2007. Now I started a new project and suddenly the preview window does not work any more. I put a clip on the timeline and as long as the clip is highlighted in the explorer or project media window the preview works. The moment I start using the controls on the timeline the preview does not work any more. I looked at the video preview device preferences, there are two possibilities there. 1. OHCI compliant IEEE 1394/DV where it says "device is unavailable" and 2. "Microsoft secondary display". Thinking that the problem comes from IEEE 1394 I switch on to the 2nd option and still the same problem. I checked the IEEE 1394 in device manager ther are no obvious problems. Could anybody help please?

    Though I'm not familiar with Vegas, uninstalling and reinstalling problem software will sometimes correct an issue.
