    Hi,
I know this question has been asked a million times before but I can not seem to get it to sink in.
    So please excuse me.
I have been reading up on how to join several DVD's with original menus and have came to the conclusion that what I need is DVDRemake Pro. The problem is I don't have the extra money right now to spend on it,so I need software that can do the job for me that is free or maybe a trial version until I can afford the real deal.
Can anybody point me in the right direction?

I know I can join the two DVDs with DVDShrink but then I lose the menus.
I read in the DVD Authoring forum that I could use DVDFab Platinum(I have the free trail of DVDFab Platinum 4) but they were not very specific on how to do it and I cant find anything about it on their site.

Any help would be Greatly Appreciated
    Thank You

For the complete thread which begins with a question just like yours:

Have fun. This is not an easy thing to accomplish, even if you're already familiar with PGCEdit.

if you just want a menu, rather then the "original" menu, it's pretty easy to demux the titles, and reauthor, using, e.g., GuiforDVDAuthor.

You can do pretty elaborate menus, (motion, sound), I'm content with a background image and a list of titles.

    For A quickie menu
Open the Shrunk Compiliation in Titlewriter -- click MakeMenu --Click create menu and add it
Or for Orig menus and switcher
    Click Make Menu
(In Make Menu Uncheck Create Chapter,Setup ... Menu)
    -- Create Menu --
When done click each vts line in tw main -- Browse to the .vob file for each orig menu
    -- Save Changes
You may have to happyface each vts Menu

    Thanks Guys,
I'll check everything out and see if I can walk myself through it...

Here's the link( https://forum.videohelp.com/topic284279.html ) to the thread that mentions using DVDFab Platinum...I asked a question about how to do it directed at the poster but I guess somebody didn't know how to answer it so they deleted it...some mods are trigger happy I guess.

Thanks for your help guys its most appreciated

    Hi,
I was wondering if somebody could help walk me through making a menu with TitleWriter?
I have followed FallenAngel10's directions plus the Help Guide on the site but I can not seem to get it to work.
I have tried numerous other ways as well to no avail.

Any help would be Greatly Appreciated

    Thank You

    Okay -- I'll try again
Rip both movies to HD (I'll call them r1 and r2)
Run DVDShrink >> Reauthor >> movies to a single target folder (lets call it Target)
Do not use DVDShrink Icon on TW Main toolbar
    Run TW >> Open Target
    Click MakeMenu
    If you want Original Menus
    • Uncheck Create Movie Chapter\Setup.. Menus >>click Apply to All Movies (Next to it)
Click Create Menu (Not create Menu and add it since we will be telling TW to import original menus for each vts(movie) later
when create menu is done you will be returned to TW Main
Click Menu><Text Icon until you see Select Menus... (main List box)
It will show (in this case 3 lines)
The First will be loaded with the Video_ts Menu TW created (vmgm Menu) (this is the switcher between movies)
---Now we will tell TW to add the original menus to each vts movie
Click the Second line (Movie 1 )>> browse to largest vts_nn_0.vob present in folder r1
Click the third and do the same in folder r2
      Click Save Changes

PLAY THE result -- If the menu works properly you are done
If not Click Happyface and fill in the form with relevant buttons >> Click simplify Menu
Do Happyface for each balky menu

Okay there is one more thing you may want to do -- Provide a link(Button) from each Main Movie Menu back to the switcher
(otherwise the movie will have to play out to return to the switcher (VMGM menu))
Click Dvd Menus>>Link Menu Button In each Vts...
Just get the menu in the viewer -- and drag the button you wish to the selector
(I usually use the Bonus or extras button -- since I always remove that crap in DVDShrink))

If TW is to generate full menus (Vmgm and Full vts Menus (Main,Chapter,Setup)
    • Make sure Create Movie Chapter\Setup.. Menus is checked >>click Apply to All Movies (Next to it)

Just click Create Menu And Add It --- You are done
    And Play it

Note: You can tinker with the options/settings in MakeMenu to customize the menus a bit
And the TW Main >>DVDText view to customize the text (Do this prior to Clicking MakeMenu)
