    The issue is that it doesn't recognize it. Is there no way to convert the ac3 audio file to something like aac without having to convert the file. I read after searching on google about some be* apps (like belight or besweet) that can help but it sounds like I'll have to reencode the file - no other way of handling this?

  2. I answered this in your other post. AC3 is not compatible in mp4 container.

    Either you encode to AAC without re-encoding the h264 stream in mp4 or use AVI container (which might need you to re-encode the video stream)

    FYI, you can keep 6-channel audio with AAC
