It works (with some restrictions/known errors regarding the bitrate buttons). I'm on 10.5.1 and it works fine for me. Be sure to be logged in using an administrator account when installing. If this doesn't help, try copying the binaries manually to Library/Application Support/ffmpegx/

    Look for /Library/Application Support/ffmpegx/
in the root of the boot partition, not in your Home folder:

    Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/ffmpegx/
    not: Macintosh HD/Users/username/Library/Application Support/

    Easy to confuse the two.

Copy ffmpegX.app from the .dmg to your /Applications folder. Launch the app from the new copy. Locate the binaries, enter your password, install. If gives the warning, proceed; the installer needs to do the sudo command to install the binaries.

Make sure your Administrator account has a password, and a 'simple' one (no special characters or spaces). You can change the password temporarily for this installation if you have to; it's only needed at installation time.
