  1. I just recently discovered this. I am not sure what I have changed or I did not notice this before ?

When I open the file in virtualdub, now I notice that there is a thin bar on the right hand side. I am doing processing using the deshaker which now shows the intermitten black lines ??? I am wondering how I get rid of this ???

I do not remember changing anything. The previous ones I did do not show the black lines on the edges.

BTW, my video source is 640 x 480, and I use the deshaker with HDV format. Is that the best setting ?

    Thanks for your upcoming assistance.

    Best regards

  2. It's not uncommon for video files to have black bars or garbage at the edges of the frame.

During the course Deshaker's operation it's normal for borders to appear. So it has options that control to deal with it.

Just use VirtualDub's cropping feature to remove the black border it annoys you.

What other software? Some media players will simulate television's overscan and will hide the outer ~5% of the frame.

Post a screen shot from VirtualDub or a short segment of the AVI file and I'll look at it.

    windows player classic ....

i am confused how now .. it means that the aspect ratio is not true 640 x 480 then ... if that is the case with the extra black line

  11. Check to see if you have any other filters enabled in vdub

Try opening up another video in vdub, does the "right bar" persist?

You said it is not visible in mpc?

  14. I've see this problem for the first time. I'm not use to work with ffdshow codecs pack i preffer work with xvid codecs pack.

If your video source has been encpoded with a ffdeshow have this problem (i don know why).
Reencode the video source with xvid one passed and fix the problem.

    greetings!
