    Hi.

    I have downloaded a movie with the name "ABC.2005.DVDRip.XviD-MESS". I don't how to play a file with an extension of "XviD-MESS".

    Could anybody help me?

    I doubt "XviD-MESS" is the file extension.

    Do you have "hide extensions for known file types unchecked"? (tools => folder options => view => uncheck it)

    You can also find more information by using mediainfo or gspot

    vlc should be able to play almost any video file

    The other possibility is that it is a "fake" file

    MESS is an infamous release group of pirated movies=warez according to site rules. No help with warez at VideoHelp. Case dismissed.
