I have question that i hope somebody cam help me with. Im making my mom a dvd of holliday movies and and i need a program that will let me make dvd menus and sub menus. Example i want on the menu to have x- mas parties, holloween parties, and easter parties. That way when you click on lets say x-mas parties another menu opens and then you can click on the x-mas movie you want to see. i guess if you wanted a another example and a mental picture it would be like if you were watching a store bought dvd on the menu you have special features and you click on that and then a sub menu opens up with all the special features. this is going to be a birthday gift for my mom. I hope this not to confusing for any one and thanks in advance to.

Have you made any dvds before? Have you used any dvd authoring programs before and if so what ?

I would probably use DVD-lab pro together with a photo program. You can also try Ulead DVD Workshop, Tmpgenc DVD Author 3.

For the same price, if you want something really flexible , check DVD Lab Pro. You will have more flexibility with this one than any other software in the same price range. They have 30 day trial.

I Do this type of thing in DVD Lab Pro all the time, and it works well. However some people find it's lack of hand-holding and wizards daunting at first, so be warned.

You might also consider GUIForDVDAuthor as a free alternative.

Be warned though, once you move away from template driven tools like MovieFactory you have to be prepared to create all your own assets (menu backgrounds, encoded video and audio streams etc) from scratch. This means understanding and working with all the different applications involved in the process.

Use Ulead DVD Workshop. Forget about the price, as there is a fully functional trial you could use, and there's also a $99 "limited" version too, that would still do what you want. I doubt DVD-Lab would be very appealing to you.

    Hello,

Use DVDIt Pro. That has the feature you are looking for and very easy to use the menu editor.
