Just did a clean install of the computer, and now I am trying to do some conversions, but programs keep crashing without any notice.
I use Quicktime Pro to convert from uncompressed avi to mov, or any other format. If I do an export to quicktime files without the options set, it works, but if I want to go into the options and change codecs, sizes and other, than Quicktime dissapears (read crashes) without giving any notice of problems. Thinking it was a Quicktime Pro problem, I used Total Video Converter, but the same thing happens, as soon as the converting starts, TVC crashes without any notice. I cannot find any error logs anywhere.
I had Adobe CS3, and Power DVD, which I removed thinking they might be the source of the problem, but the same thing keeps happening. I have not installed any video codecs of any kind, since I use VLC to play files. The only other program that comes to mind that might cause this is Nero 8.
Anyone have any idea what to do? Any tool to fix this?
