    Hi there ,
First of all, this site is one of few great places to get video related info / solutions !

Heres my problem for your collection :
I am currently trying to play ( and export in full quality )
the video animation sent to me as QT file ( DV-DVCPRO 29.97 ) in Final Cut Pro 6.2
. However , it appears that FCP , when importing this file into it, will onlu play it with 2:3:2:3 pulldown .
Subsequently , if I make a montage of this file, my FCP 6.2 plays it only as a pull-down ( this big 5 GB file of a mastered (for broadcast) animated show needs to be re-edited for DEMO. I would like to export resulting sequence to another high quality QT file... however , anything I try, gets a pulldown when played .
    ..

I tried going to "system settings":. playback control. to turn off the Pulldown pattern , but there is no option for that ..(there is only 2:3:2:3, 2:3:3:2, 2:2:2:4: 24@25 pulldown , but no " NONE"

What bugs me the most is that the original file , when I play it as a Quick time movie from the desktop( not from FCP 6.2) plays WIHTHOUT pulldown !? !( just as I would like to use it in FCP

I am at my witts end ...now this ha s become a real problem , since I need to deliver this very very soon , and I am at a loss on how to go around it ..

YOur help Would be Much appreciated ..!
Any questions , please call me 416 712 8620 -cell or e mail me ///

You don't have progressive frames with pulldown flags. Pulldown is applied before the DV stream is recorded. What's on the tape, and in your file, is 29.97 fps interlaced frames. The options are there to tell the program how to inverse telecine back to 23.976 fps progressive frames. You would have to export as something other than DV to get progressive frames.

Or are you saying you have 29.97 fps progressive frames? My camcorder has such an option. These play back at 29.97 fps progressive on my computer (no interlace comb artifacts).

video animation is not supposed to be recorded on dv was the first mistake - it is rendered as frames and should stay that way - the producer should be able to supply with the original files
