Hey every1, I have a question, I am using CCE and I do a OPV(One-Pass-Variable) and I heard some where that if you put a Q.Factor of 5 You yield a full dvd, but it comes up small, not able to fully use all the space, is there a way to determine the best Q.Factor or Should I go with a Q.Factor of 1

There is some famous algorithms out there, like RoBa, often used by some all-in-one softs, TFM for example, and others

You must also take into account that quantization matrices have a high influence in determining qFactor. For example, a high compression CQM like BVCD you can get a low qfactor, less than 10 or even 1, but it is more certainly that you get a low size DVD. By other hand with a low compression CQM, you will get a bigger DVD but most of the times qfactor must be greater than 10

Another issue is that when you use a combination of high max bitrate with very low qfactor CCE may crash, get worst if you use avisynth filters

it's hard to end users to determine the right qfactor, you should use a GUI that make some simulations, using RoBa or other algorithm. And also it is impossible to get always 4.4GB DVD, 3.5GB ~ 4.0 GB is a good ratio for OPV...

try TFM, Diko, or AVI2DVD, if you use CCE SP2 you can also try different CQM with this GUI

http://avi2iso.planetaclix.pt/avi2iso.rar ( needs WinRar to unpack and .Net 2.0 )

You will see that some matrices throws qFactor to unreal values, it all depends

    good luck

THanks for the effort I already know those, My problem is solved I found the algorithm and formula and tested it out, it was a success
