    Hello everyone,

Is there anyone out there who can explain something to me.
I've recently downloaded ffmpegX 0.0.9w but it seems that there are a few things missing.
When i want to convert .MOV, .AVI and other files into Mpeg2 for DVD i can not find the following in the quick presets or anywhere else in the program.

    dvdlo
    dvdmpeg2enc
    dvdffmpeg

What's wrong? Am i doing something wrong?

I only converted DVD into AVI the last 2 years and never used this conversion method.

I also see the term 3:2 pulldown, checkbox in tools Tab, but in my tools there is NO 3:2 checkbox.

I just want to make some Mpeg2 files so i can make a DVD + menu with Sizzle

    Please, i need some help.
    Thanx in advance.

The latest release is ffmpegX 0.0.9x r2. The 'w' releases were current between 28-04-2006 and 22-09-2006.

Maybe they were named slightly different in the 'w' release.

That checkbox is in the Options tab, and only for mpeg2enc conversions. The Options tab content depends on the selected video encoder setting.

    OK......

Maybe i've posted this question too quick.
I've found the preset...It was in the summary tab.
I was looking in the video tab....found the 3:2 puldown also.

Now i have only one more question.

In the older version 0.0.9w it recognized .MOV files.
Now i've downloaded the 0.0.9x r2 version and it does'nt recognize my .MOV files anymore.

I want to convert them badly.....
Tried Visual Hub 1.30, but this only gives sound and a black screen.

Does anyone have suggestions or solutions?

    Thanx

MOV is a container format, which can include a wide variety of codecs. Please specify which (video+audio) codecs are used in your source file, by looking it up in QuickTime Player (Cmd-I or Cmd-J).
Also, does it say "Unrecognized" in the Summary tab? Or do you get an encoding error for "Unrecognized codec" in the Log?
As your source file is MOV, you may want to try to set ffmpegX to Decode with QuickTime in the Options tab, if it wasn't already set (I think it is set by default for mpeg2enc, tho').

    Hello Case,

    Soundtrack: MPEG Layer 3

Structure: DivX 6.0, 496x368, Unknown MPEG layer 3, Stereo 48,000 khz,

Does is make any sense now?

Those codecs (mpeg-4, mp3) are quite common, and ffmpegX should have no problem recognizing the source file.
