Yea, I am looking to setup an outdoor photo studio. I either want to set it up in a building in an open area where light is bleeding through, an enclosed room or outside with the sun beaming down and I am from the tropics, so the sun would be piping hot . I was going to use a 3 point lighting set up with the 2 lights to the side and the camera flash being the middle light. The camera is going to be either a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi or an Olympus Evolt E-410. The problems ,which I am having, are:
1)I know if i do it outside i am going to need some reflectors to eliminate the shadows;however, i am not sure how to set them up.
    2) If i am doing the shoot outside, are all the lights necessary? Can I just use reflectors?
    3) If i set up inside an enclosed room, especially a very small room, what is a decent wattage to work with that would be reasonably cost efficient, that is cheap.
    4) What is the best type of background material to use? I have seen alot of ppl using muslin backgrounds. Just thought I would ask.
    5) Finally, Are ppl suppose to stand on the background material? Is it washable? Do i have to replace it after using it once?

I know these are alot of questions. So thank you very much to whoever answers. Nuff props

A few links. Most of these are for indoor studios, but the lighting is similar. You can use reflectors, but they would have to be movable as the sun moves. It's easier to do it in a unlighted room as you would have better control of the lighting and shadows and it might be a bit cooler.

I got those from a Google search for: ' setting up a portrait studio '.
