I recently bought a ZR 800 canon cam which I am starting to use now. I inquired about the cam on this forum a while back and decided to make the purchase based on the positive replies I received here . I am quite green at editing I really need some help in finding an easy to use editing tool. I want to make home movies and burn them to dvd. I tried Windows Movie Maker but I wasn't that impressed with the results ( the final result was very pixelated). I was going to try Vegas 8.0(seemed like a great program), but I don't have a lot of time to spend learning Vegas and DVD Architect. I have a Pentium 4 windows xp machine 2ghz with 2 gigs of RAM. I am looking for something to try that doesn't have a large learning curve and produces decent videos. I am willing to buy software as well. I would like to try out some programs before I purchase them though. Any leads or help would be appreciated...

    Peace

Both the free all-in-one tools (AVI encoding to MPG and then DVD authoring) FAVC and DVD Flick have been regularly recommended recently.

  3. I started out using Ulead Video Studio for editing and TMPGEnc DVD Author for DVD creation. I think Ulead has a DVD authoring software also but I've never used it. Ulead and TMPGEnc are both fairly user friendly and not too hard to learn and they both give good results.

Windows Movie Maker works very well...
!. you HAVE to save as a DV-AVI...(13 gig per hr)
    2. Use another program (ie: Ulead Movie Factory..or others) to burn to DVD..
    3. Unless you have VISTA then forget above...
