For the curious....
Just did a test with the Toshiba prototype HD DVD-R. Wrote a 14G standard content folder (HVDVD_TS) and it plays back fine on the D3 player from Costco and the XBox. Also did a test with DVDSP and it does not recognize the media type.

Kinda interested. Won't go this route until there's realistic drive/media pricing though.
...Under NDA or any other info (screens, etc) you can share? -
yeah I'd be interested in price and link information.
Is this the same as the laptop hddvd burner from toshiba? THat is the only one available that I know of......Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
Got it through a company that offers an HD DVD authoring tool - rather not say which one but that info is pretty easy to find. Around $1500.00. USB 2.0 and burns with Nero just fine. I believe it is the same as the laptop burner. Its from Europe so it come with an 50 to 60 adapter which kinda scared me when I opened the box
Will be getting the XBox emulator soon which will really speed up testing:

Now I just need more work. It's tough getting independent content owners to make the jump to HD.
