Are there going to be any new, good shows in 2008? I can’t stand the break in new television for too much longer

If you haven't seen Pushing Daises on ABC, be sure to check it out. It's a wonderful program. And Lost returns Jan. 31st.

Has anyone heard about this new Lifetime tv show called Top This Party? It looks pretty decent and I keep seeing commercials for it. I think I might check it out, what do you guys think about it?

Lifetime is for chicks.

For fans of westerns, I would suggest checking out "Comanche Moon". This fills in what happened between "Larry McMurtry's Dead Man's Walk" and "Larry McMurtry's Lonesome Dove". It airs on CBS on January 13th, 15th and 16th.
"Big Shots" is returning, and I really enjoy that show.
I for one wish someone would launch a mini-series channel and show important landmark television events such as Roots, A Woman Called Moses, ect. It is rare that anything on network tv comes close to the impact that those shows had. -
I'm upset that Journeyman was cancelled. Sucks. Stupid ADD generation not willing to wait for story to slowly unfold (I don't understand how Lost or 24 survived!)
Supernatural is still here for now, so that'll be good.
CSI is still good, but the honeymoon is over for me. Same for Stargate Atlantis, not the same with SG-1 gone.
Chuck is a good new show, from what I hear. Not watched much of it.
I really liked THE BIG BANG THEORY! That was funny, good little sitcom for easy laughs.
Psych and Monk come back this week or next, and those are always pretty decent.
Looking forward to more NCIS and My Name Is Earl, those aren't stale yet. Stories are currently pretty interesting, various unanswered plot lines.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

Well, I saw the original version of "Battlestar Galactica" and I can say the
recent wannabe remake of it sucks.
Stargate SG-1 often was watchable. Stargate Atlantis is not watchable at all.
As for Psych and Monk... NO COMMENTS.
Fortunately Babylon 5 is back again @ Warner. -

Acting and production values are way higher than the original 80's series. Many people seem to have fond memories of the original and compare it (from their memory) to the new version, and don't give the new version much credit. I enjoy the new show, and I was a big fan of the original. But after buying the DVD set (of the original) and sitting down to watch it, I found that the show didn't match my expectations set from my memories. It is a decent (average for the time frame) show for sci-fi fans, but it isn't anything earth shattering. I can enjoy the new show for what it is without the need of comparison (and for anyone that watched the Razor movie, there is a nice tie-in to the 80's ships and cylons).
As for "new" shows, most new shows start in the Fall. Most of the shows starting their seasons early this year (as noted above) aren't "new", but continuing from last season. Even most of the conintuing shows are not likely to be full seasons because of the strike. In other words, get used to reruns or find something else to do with your time.Google is your Friend -

I was flipping through the channels like usual last night because I couldn't find anything to watch and I came across the show Top This Party and decided to watch it. And pantsonfire you were right the show was very entertaining and amusing to see how the party planner was able to deal with the clients unruly demands and still be able to plan an awesome party.

Actually none of the actors act that good.
Well, I guess I just changed my own mind by typing this....Only worth watching if it's the only thing on -
I suppose the show could get old quickly - unless they continue to find new and inventive plot twists. But that goes for any show...

In a few months there will be a new season of weeds on showtime...this show is amazing
