    I have 2 avi videos that I want to put on the same dvd. Is this a difficult process or do I need special software?

    Easy would be a program like ConvertXToDVD. You can add both AVIs and it should be able to convert them to DVD. It's payware, but a very good program. Alternatively, you could try the freeware FAVC.

    A few problems you may run into: MP3 VBR audio, common on video off the net can cause audio/video sync problems. ConvertX handles them fairly well. FAVC, not sure. Some VBR audio may need further processing before you convert to avoid sync problems.

    If they are PAL format, converting to NTSC can cause problems at times. You can drop one into Gspot 2.70 and it will tell you if you have VBR audio and also the framerate. PAL is 25fps, NTSC 29.70 or 23.970fps.

    I wouldn't join them before encoding if possible. That's a common cause of problems.

    Of course the best is to not convert them if you can avoid it. There are quite a few set top players that can handle AVI type formats like Xvid or Divx.
