I am in the process of getting ready to transfer 8mm film to dvd. Right now I am cleaning, organizing, and experimenting with software, etc. I am planning on using a vaiable speed projector, 1000 watt seems to work best. The projector sits about 2 feet from the wall where the image is projected and the camcorder tripod is set at the same height as the projector, but closer in distance than the projector, about 16 inches from the wall. The only problem I am having is getting a sharp image. The color is good, flicker can be fixed but sometimes the image is somewhat blurred. At this time I am capturing video with my sony cybershot with movie mode. Dont laugh. Actually the images arent bad. I would like to try a telecine box and I want to purchase a camcorder, but dont know what to look for in both. Any input as to the capablities of the camcorder required for this project would be greatly appreciated.
