I am trying to convert PAL video file through the use of DVD Decrypter into an NTSC file. The file when completed seems to be somewhat jumpy. I'm confused on what my settings should be in SUPER. Can anyone help me please?
Thanks,
DJL

SUPER is not the right tool to do PAL<>NTSC conversions. The reason it looks 'jumpy' is that to make 25fps PAL into 29.97fps NTSC, it has to add duplicate frames, about 4 a second. It's not the program so much, it's the method.
You will generally end up with the sound out of sync that way also.
There are other ways that will give you smoother conversions, but the best is not to convert at all. Just use a player that can properly display PAL video, software or set top.
A few ways to more properly convert: https://www.videohelp.com/convert#4;41
And you would need to tell us what sort of video you are converting. A Gspot 2.70 screenshot would do that. -
Use the search feature of this site, and search for "PAL to NTSC". It's amazing this horse is still alive, after taking so much beating!

"the best tool" is cheap player which costs less than $50 (Canopus around $500, lol)

Thanks for the advice everyone.
I think the problem I was dealing with that I used DVD Decrypter to get the files, switched to a program called Any Video Converter. Usually works like a champ for me and it did fine making avi files out of them. I just recently purchased Sony's Vegas Movie Studio 8.0. When I burned it in the DVD Architect Studio, the picture would get all wavy and blurry at different points. I really don't understand why. So I'm confused as to whether it is Sony's Vegas program for the Any Video Converter not working with the Sony program.

With all the converting you are doing, I'm not surprised if the quality is all over the shop. Any Video Converter is just another commercial front-end to what should be free encoders.
DVD decrypter can demux the files when it rips to give you something you can load directly into Vegas. There should be no need to do all this extra converting.Read my blog here.

Wow gunslinger I had no idea that's awesome! I will try doing that. BTW, it sounds like you have Vegas and one problem I was having with the program was adding music to a DVD project. It seems that I can add music by removing the sound from the original video. However if I only want the music for one piece of video and then try to add other video clips to that DVD project, it seems that all sound is such off on the rest of the video files. I hope this makes sense and was wondering how to fix this problem. I really like Vegas, but was disappointed with this recent result of converting from PAL to NTSC. However I will now look into using just the files taken out of DVD Decrypter and place them into Vegas.
Thanks again,

Vegas isn't designed to convert PAL to NTSC (or NTSC to PAL, for that matter). It is an editor. If you use it for that purpose, it is very strong. Personally, I would work in Vegas in the native format of the video (in your case, PAL), output PAL, then use FulciLives' guide to convert the video to NTSC for authoring.
As for adding your music, it should be as simple as
1. Drag the music to the timeline to create a new audio track with your music on it.
2. Move the music to where it needs to be on the timeline
3. Add a volume envelope to the original music audio track and the new audio track, and add points and drag the envelope as needed to vary the audio of each track up and down in the mix.
In DVD Decrypter, go into IFO mode, then click on the streams tab. Click on the video track, and tick Demux. Click on the audio track you want, and click Demux. Now rip. You should get a video and an audio file. Drag these into VegasRead my blog here.

Thanks for all the advice in regards to converting PAL to NTSC. I saw online three programs, one free and the others requiring a fee to use. I was wondering what people's opinions are on these three programs for converting PAL to NTSC:
1. DVD Flick
2. DVD SANTA
3. CONVERTXtoDVD
Thank you,

Aren't we talking about PAL DVD to NTSC DVD? All these tools are mostly for AVI to DVD.

Yes Mats,
Actually that's exactly what I'm talking about. I want to convert a PAL DVD to an NTSC DVD. If I extract the files from the PAL DVD, which of the three programs would be the best options to convert the files.
1. DVD Flick
2. DVD SANTA
3. CONVERTXtoDVD
Sorry if I'm not making myself clear.

None of the above.
https://forum.videohelp.com/topic343209.html#1793134 - Guns1inger has already sumed it up.
But if you want some oneclickwonder to do the work for you, I guess convertx2dvd is best. FAVC does a good job too, but I'm not sure it supports DVD as source mtrl.
