    Greetings,

Since those MKV files can be pretty large, I've seen as large as 14GB, what is everyone doing about saving these files, especially since it can overwhelm a hard drive in short order.
Besides investing in a Blu-ray or HD recorder, can they be broken up to fit on Dual Layer DVDs or even single layer DVDs for the smaller 6GB stuff?

    thx

You may be able to split them with MKVExtractGUI. For other MKV programs, try a search in our 'Tools' section for ' mkv '.

It pretty much boils down to how you are using them. If they are that big, they are likely HD rip's. The question becomes how are you using them? and whether or not you need to keep files of that size/quality. Depending on how you are using them, you could convert to another format or reencode to reduce the size.

Of course, you could always just buy the content, then it would already be on a disc.
