So I happend to have an EH60 which has that option. Turning it on reduces rain visibly (though it doesn't do miracles), as well as some VHS artefacts like those that plague blue/red textures. And the detail doesn't seem to be very much affected!
What's you guys experience on this one ? Mabye the effect is different between different models, but I know it's been there for a while...

I have that feature on my Panasonic DMR-ES10 DVD Recorder and it works well. I just wish it would also filter the channels from the tuner in addition to the AV input.

I have a Panasonic DMR-ES20. Generally speaking, I think that it offers pretty darn good encoding quality. (LSI chipset). However, I find that its iteration of the AV/ NR adds a bit of ghosting and blurriness. It does a fair bit of cleanup, but tends to 'soften' & blur the picture a little too much for my liking.
This unit seems to 'clean up' cable/tuner noise a bit. My recordings are always cleaner looking than the original broadcast. Perhaps it's using some of the NR features or maybe it's just the good comb filtering that it has built into it. Umdunno. I'd be really interested to hear from some of our resident experts about this.Pronounced 'Sniv-el', Not 'Sniv-i-lee'
