  2. i have had a similar problem with tmpgenc on a few movies(all vhs) only one channell usually left was recorded i had sound when played on pc but none when i played it on dvd player is this similar to what your problem is if you get sound on pc but not on dvd player do this i split audio from movie convert audio to wave then use a programe called goldwave to simply copy left channel and paste it to right channel clean it up a bit with some filters load wave into tmpgenc encode wave to mpeg audio track youll end up with a file the exact same size as when u started then multiplex both together again and enjoy only once did i get sync probs sound was just .40 secs out of sync just noticable but easily fixed

  8. Jeepers ibadk, this must be a hot issue with you. I do like your "help" as opposed to "bump" like most do to keep their post in the limelight. At any rate, I'll try to give some help. Now, you say it works fine on the computer, but not the standalone DVD player (I paraphrased a bit there)? When you say it plays on the computer, does this mean you are playing the original file, the MPEG conversion, or direct off the VCD? ASSUMING the VCD works on your computer but not a DVD player, try setting your audio mode of your sound system to Stereo, not Dolby Digital. For some reason, I must manually switch my A/V preamp to stereo to hear VCDs.

This answer is based on a lot of assumptions. If you want better help, give some more details.

  11. -Maybe your total bitrate is too high or too low
so your dvdplayer can't handle it
-or try to mux with bbmpeg , most player will prefer that instead of TMPG

  12. Have you installed the codec drivers ?
I had the problem with TMPGEnc, but after installing all the codes,.. problems disapeared.

Check the download folder here...look under codec.

Try modifying the method a little: Load the AVI into VirtualDub and then just frameserve it over to TMPGEnc. If you look in the F.A.Q. section of this website, you will see well written, easy instructions on how to configure VDub to frameserve to TMPGEnc.
