I recorded some music sessions of a friend and while the video isn't the greatest and doesn't seem worth messing with I would really like to put the audio in mp3. I have no idea where to start.
Regards

What about realtime recording from the audio output of the camcorder? If you haven't already transfered the video to the pc then simply play the video in the player but hook up the audio output into the audio input on your computer. then use any software recording sutie that will record from the input and you can record to wav or mp3.

If you already have the full video and audio on your computer than try aedipuss's suggestion. Good luck.Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

I still have the mini-dv and the capture on the comp. I was able to use yodas idea, thanks. I used the a/v cables and hooked up the adapter for the computer. I love adapters so I have an assortment of them, I just went rca to the comp and recorded in my ringtone maker. I know you've got it sorted, but you could also try opening the DV AVI in something like Audacity (I think it takes AVI's) and then save the audio out to MP3. There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

You could also open in Virtualdub and save the wav then convert to mp3. Melde Melda Vessė
